- TARMEM is a 3-year research project funded by the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) in the Cycle 10 of the National Priorities Research Program (NPRP)
- Project has official started in August 2018, however because of a number of administrative issues, the project had a very slow start, lagging almost 10 months behind the planned schedule :-(
- The project is led by Gianni A. Di Caro, Associate Teaching professor in the Computer Science Department of the Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q). The project consortium includes the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (PI is Prof. Filippo Arrichiello), and the University of Genova (PI is Prof. Enrico Simetti). Both the University of Cassino and the University of Genova participates to the project as node of ISME (Integrated Systems for Marine Environments), a consortium if Italian universities for research on marine robotics.
- The general aim of the project is to develop planning, coordination and communication tools for the distributed control of a team of aerial and aquatic robots for autonomous long-running monitoring missions in marine environments. Check the description pages for more details.
